I gave K a bandana today using a baby blanket and she decided that she was a banana. When I corrected her (hmm, I wonder if middle d's are always an issue? I'll have to watch!), she then decided she was a baby pirate. Works for me!! All she was missing was the eye patch (which she could have cared less about) and the sword (which was VERY important to her!)

I really like this sharing a quote from K thing, and it gives me something simple to blog about each day with the opportunity to expand if I want, but no obligation.

However, there is no quote today. Because, well.... I don't work on Fridays!!

So have a great weekend!

Today, I told K that she needed to rest on the way back from our outing. She agreed, saying she was tired. She then told me "when I'm funny, I'm sleepy." Which is 100% accurate. She turns into a giggle box when she's over tired and she was about there when I told her she had to close her eyes in the car!

K has begun using similes and analogies often... today we were at the opening of a new store in town and of course it was fairly busy. We were walking up and down the aisles collecting samples and checking things out and at one point we couldn't move at all. K's response? "It's like a parking lot in here."

In other news, I'm considering buying a MacBook. I'm so sick of the hassles I've had with my PCs (all three of them in five years, yeesh!) and I can't think of any reason not to go with the Mac. On top of $165 in student/teacher discounts, I would also get a free printer and a free iPod Nano or Touch. My other problem is figuring out exactly how to pay for it... I may just open a line of credit through Apple since that seems to make sense!

My favorite sentence of the day? "What is he in the world doing?" - K has started to pick up on common phrases, but often they get jumbled and this came out while we were driving today. I can't remember the exact context, but it sure was cute. You know what she's saying right?

I also love that we go to ballet and majastics every week. No matter how many times we say gymnastics, it comes out a twisted around.

I've been having lots of fun with her - I'm so glad that I get to be there all summer long.

Why do people have to be so RUDE? I just spent FIFTEEN hours putting together a DVD of pictures from the wedding with music playing behind it and everyone is currently in the living room make comments about how "that's a great picture" or "there needs to be less of those" or "it should be shorter". If that's how you feel do it yourself. Otherwise SHUT UP and leave me ALONE. Oh and here's an idea. STOP DRINKING. You don't have to have alcohol in front of you from the mintue you wake up to the minute you go to bed - especially if it's just going to turn you into a jerk.

Just once, it'd be nice to feel appreciated! Thank goodness the worst of them leave tomorrow, too bad I have to deal with the other one until Wednesday.

Yay, the school year is over!
Boo, my favorite teacher at the school is moving to Arizona! I'll miss her a ton!

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the fall at this school. They are starting a new program for reading in order for all students to get the help they need, but I'm not sure everyone knows exactly what to do. Like, really? Are we supposed to go out and buy the same book for the 30+ students in the largest group? Or do they do different activities because they are above grade level and therefore not of the same concern as others? Like I said, should be interesting!

I was so ready for summer by the end of the week. Let me tell you, those kids took everything out of me that I had. I didn't realize how difficult the end of the school year was until I realized how drained I was all week long!

02 June 2008

Every day, several times a day, I have a visitor from Laguna Niguel, CA. I have no idea who this person is, but I'd appreciate it if they would say hi.

Actually, I've had a lot of visitors lately and no comments, which is interesting. It seems like back when I used to post everyday but only had three or four visitors I was getting far more comments. Why does that happen?

I think most of the people that I started blogging with have started to phase out the blogging. It is far less common to see posts from the original four or so that I used to comment on, and I can't say that I'm much better, it's often ten or more days between posts.

It's not that I have less to say. I think I've been hurt by comments, I no longer feel anonymous and safe on this blog and that really bothers me. This summer I'm back at the job I was at when I started this blog and I'd love to write about K and B, but how much can I say? These kids have grown so much, I really should update speech issues and such. Hopefully I get to that this summer, although I may just start a new blog from scratch.

Decisions, decisions.
