Not that anyone cares

But, my computer is without a power cord until something like Friday (if it's next Monday, Best Buy owes me big time).

Therefore, I won't be posting and will only be able to check my email on my parent's computer (with a mouse that doesn't work - anyone know if my external mouse for my laptop will work on a PC even though it's labelled 'laptop'?).

Be back when I can - I've got nanny and subbing adventures to share!

Insomnia sucks.

I know why I am suddenly unable to sleep and I really wish I could talk about it here, but for now, I can't.

I don't think I've gotten a good night's sleep for well over a week - falling asleep has become impossible although once I'm asleep I've done quite well at staying asleep which has always been something I've struggled with (hello, 323am, pretty sure I've seen every one of them for the past four or more years).

Going to try to fall asleep now - but will probably be up for two more hours AT LEAST.

I'm such an exciting person.

How many 22 year olds spent Valentine's Day watching The Parent Trap with her parents? Yep, I bet I'm the only one.

And now, I'm in bed. At 9pm.

Here's hoping tomorrow's more exciting. Maybe I'll write about how ripped off I feel after covering for my friend who was supposed to babysit but couldn't.

Today, I taught music for half a day. Oh joy!

I learned that I cannot tap a steady beat and I already knew that I'm basically tone deaf. Therefore, I relied on the students a lot. They probably thought it was pretty cool that their teacher told them it was up to them to have the day run smoothly. And you know what? For the most part, they really stepped up. I had spent time in two of the three classes before so I knew names for those groups. The other group gave me a bit of a hard time, but nothing unmanageable.

However, that meant the third day in a row that I didn't get to work with two of my kids. I hope that tomorrow is better and that there aren't a million teachers out (Mon - 9/22 or so, Tues - 5ish/22).

P.S. - I've started a new blog - if you'd like the link email me or comment and I'll be glad to share. This one is not going away - at least for now - but I felt like I needed a new "safe" place to blog about work, so I made one!
P.P.S. - Is "learned" not the word? Why does blogger spellcheck say that I'm wrong? Maybe I ought to google it?

And the snow just keeps on falling.

I'm babysitting for K and B tonight. We went out to dinner and then had some movie time. While at dinner the kids were eating dessert and I looked out the window. The snow as coming down super heavy, so I told B that we'd have to hurry because I didn't want to be out to long and we still had to go buy frosting for tomorrow's snack at church. We agreed we'd leave in five minutes. By the time we left, the snow was mostly done.

By the time we got across the street to the grocery store, the snow was falling again. When we came out, nothing.

K and I frosted cupcakes while B started his hour of movie time (a whole hour? I have no idea why, usually the limit is like 30 minutes). Afterwards, K and I watched a little bit of figure skating (note to self: don't use the LP setting on the DVR to DVD recorder, the quality sucks). I looked out the window and it was coming down pretty heavily.

Mom and dad are at the lake for a fundraiser dinner for B's ski team. What time they'll be home is anyone's guess, since the roads now all have chain controls. There is a very good chance I'll just stay here tonight, as driving twenty miles through "frequent heavy snow" as is the forecast does not appeal to me one little bit.

I can't remember it ever snowing as consistently as it has for the last month. We could wake up to another 8 inches in the morning. For the third or fourth time since January 4th.

Make it stop!
