One massive paper down, I don't even know how many more to go.
So, is it just me, or do blogger beta blogs only update like once a week on bloglines? If that's the case and I'm missing you - sorry! I'll check around more once I've got a little more time (2 weeks until finals are over!).
I'm switching Bible studies next semester for a number of reasons. One being schedule. Another being boys. Or one boy in particular - who seems to have the art of "staring right on through" (so with you Sassy Student) down, despite spending a ton of time with me. It's frustrating to develop feelings for someone who doesn't have them back and he definitely is one of those people. And I think he may read this blog occasionally. That's okay, maybe he'll get the point. Why are Christian guys so hard to read sometimes? Why do they refuse to ask girls out? There are a number of them in the group that I attend that I'd totally go to dinner or something with, and yet, no interest from any of them. Argh!
Last night at Bible Study I wrote an interesting letter/prayer or combination of the two and it surrounded K and B, maybe I'll transcribe it here later (if anyone's even reading? No comments on my last post, that's strange!).
Right now I have to run to my car and grab the bulletin from the Mormon church I went to last Sunday for my project. Or else I'll lose points, and I need all the points I can get in this class.

Really should be doing homework
But I wanted to update first.
I have about a million projects due before the end of the semester and I'm not sure when I'm going to get them all done. I'm about 1/4 of the way done with typing up responses for one particular assignment that is due tomorrow, but I have it all handwritten and if push comes to shove I can hand it in that way. Currently, this assignment is like 8 pages long, and I don't have any money to print it. Which sucks. I need work. I think I have an opportunity at a daycare that K and B are going to go to soon, which will be nice. The lady I was emailing with didn't even balk at the idea of me having to go to school so only being able to work part-time either, which is very exciting.
Yesterday, I picked up K for the first time in almost two weeks and we were sitting in her room right before nap and she looked at me and said "I love you." Awww... I love you too kiddo, and I really missed them too.
Okay back to homework... I'll be around later.

Job hunting once again (and this time it's Christmas!)
I posted an ad on our local craigslist on Wednesday, offering babysitter services for the holiday season. Thusfar, I've had one response. From a lady who provided no information but expects me to call her. I sent her an email back, asking what hours she needs and how many children she has - let's see if she ever responds.
I have a month off of school and nothing to do to fill my time. At least nothing concrete. I'd like to go to Florida for a week and visit my aunt, but that's definitely optional. As it is, I need to save as much as possible for the upcoming school year, and I'm looking at getting a job in Toronto next summer, so that might be enough travel for me for a while.
Right now, I'm only working a guarenteed 6 hours a week with K and B, plus anywhere from 4-7 hours at my mom's shop. Granted I'm picking up a lot of extra hours here and there, but it would be nice to find something more permanent and guarenteed.
I'm working on Christmas cards - but just realized how hard it is to send cards to college students. College students tend to move every year, so I'm having a hard time with addresses! Every year I intend to write special notes inside each card, but this year like years past I got through number 1 and then gave up!
I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday and go to spend time with those important to you! If you got up early to go shopping, I hope you had fun!!

*All done* *All done*
That's what I was signing when I finally finished tutoring last night. 21 lessons and hardly any sleep later, it's over and done with. I learned a lot but I won't miss it (I'm trying to ignore the massive projects we have to do before the end of the semester).
I've got to go work on a journal that's due in like an hour or so - I should be back, but just in case:

Ahhhh, when will it end?
And a month ago I didn't have time for one post a week, and here you get two today!
I have the week off, yet seem to have more work than I could imagine. I have an interview due next Wednesday and I haven't even decided who to interview (need to get on that, I'm going to talk to a girl in one of my classes tomorrow). I have progress report draft due tomorrow, along with a lesson plan that I'm not ready for (yay for wanting to teach). And a chapter response that I haven't even read the chapter for.
And yet, I know that I'll be all caught up by tomorrow night.
I registered for classes today, 5 classes - 16 credits, including 2 known to be difficult. Yay. Or not.
There's no Bible Study or IV this week, and I may or may not attend by NEA meeting. I have to get down to business with the semester so close to over. I said at the beginning that I was going to end up neglecting social time, but I don't feel that I've really done that, I've gone out of town with people every single weekend and it feels good (just not so good the day after whenI remember all the work I have to do.

Further evidence....
... that God works in mysterious ways.
I spent the weekend working on OCC (check out post below this one - we processed, packed and delivered about 1000 boxes this weekend, not counting the 1000 that were already processed and packed when we got there that we just had to deliver to the centre), and had some amazing fellowship and reflection time with God. There's nothing quite like working on one of His mission's in order to discover where you stand in faith.
Then, I go back to the town where I go to school and get invited to dinner and this awesome young adult worship service. While at the worship service, who should I run into but a guy from high school? One who I'd always kinda liked, but was too busy focused on others to truly have a crush on. And you know my face gave it away totally, I was so happy to see him. And seriously, what kind of guy give you a massive hug and stops what he's doing to talk to you when you haven't seen each other in a long time (we're talking 2-3 years, maybe more!). And then when we were leaving, I was NOT going up to him but the friend I was with insisted that I go say goodbye, but he walked up to me! And said something along the lines of "it'd be great to see you every week." Yes, yes it would!!! (Okay, done with the teenage girl exclamation squeeling part of the post).
I can't put into words the instant connection I felt with him again, but I'm excited at the prospect of at least getting to know him a bit better, and on a more adult level. And the friend that I was with decided we'd make it a regular thing to have Sunday dinner and then head to church. Which give me even more reason to be there (you know, besides the fact that the pastor is incredibly and his message really made sense and I felt drawn in and I have about a million friends from Intervarsity who go there as well?).

... And I'm off again....
this time to Auburn. California.
Here's a link to why - you know since everyone asked last weekend. We'll see about internet access... Operation Christmas Child - check it out!
I'll be back Sunday, and have the ENTIRE week off of work because K, B and the parents are heading to California as well since B doesn't have school.

*Melt*
On Monday:
Mom to K - "What was the best part of your day?"
K's response - "Miss Angela picking me up!"
Also Monday:
I gave K new pajamas that I'd bought at an outlet store somewhere in the last couple of weeks, after I left she told her mom - "I wear dees jamas every day 'cause they're so so cute."

And I thought landing in Denver was bad...
.... I should have known better. It's not like I've never landed here before (here being the airport. not my house. which is 50+ miles from the airport). However, I hadn't ever landed here during a storm. Oh my was the turbulence fun. Or something. I had to make people distract me. Because otherwise it wouldn't have been a good thing. We played mind games on the last leg of the flight (Vegas to here), which I definitely didn't get, but at least it was something to do, you know since homework wasn't going to happen while bumping through the air (or really even if it was a smooth ride!) and by the time you can turn on your music it's almost time to turn it back off again on such a short flight. And that is one incredible run on sentence. Can you tell that I focus on grammar while writing papers, but not while writing the blog?
Denver was fun. I met a lot of cool people and really want to go back and spend more time as a tourist in that city. Which I could do for relatively inexpensively. Hmm, perhaps I should volunteer to go along with K and B and family next time they go....
I left my flash drive in my hotel room (at least I think so) with about a million important papers on there. I called security but he couldn't check the room at midnight since there was somebody in there. Crap. I have a major paper due tomorrow which was almost done and now I have to go back and rewrite the entire thing. Not fun. Not fun at all. Hopefully thye find it and send it to me.
I am 7-8 comments away from 500! Not that expect to reach it based on this post alone. But you never know, it could happen. My readership has grown again lately (after falling drastically last month). And, I'd like to request that if you're reading my blog 4 or 5 times a day for great lengths of time that you would please at least say hi! I'm not scary I promise. I like to know who's here.
I'm catching up on bloglines. I've only got 83 to read. Much less than the 300+ I had last week. Now back to the paper. I'll be around later.

I'm here
And no matter what anybody says, flying into Denver sucks. Not only do you hit turbulence but you have to deal with a shuttle ride from the airport that costs a small fortune.
And I hate landing. Taking off is a bit better, but landing sucks. Every time. It does not matter. I'm never happy with landing, ever since I bounced down the runway in Detroit when I was 12 (almost 13). It apparently traumatized me, because I forget to breathe while landing now.
Luckily, the hotel room is BEAUTIFUL and the bed is really comfortable. I'd totally take a nap if I didn't have to go to dinner in about half an hour.
I'll be back later (it might really be tomorrow!) - maybe with pictures. We'll see....

Weekend in Vegas and all I have to show for it is a cold
Yep, that's right. I got sick in Vegas. At first I thought it was just my lungs reacting to the smoke (YAY for the passage of NV Question 5 yesterday) I was exposed to everywhere I walked. But three days later my throat is still scratchy and I barely have a voice.
I just uploaded a bunch of pictures to my myspace. Which a couple of you (4? maybe more?) can find easily and others could probably find if they looked a little bit.
I'm catching up on Gilmore Girls, ready to head into One Tree Hill in 15 minutes because I don't have Bible Study tonight. Which is good because it has been raining all day long. And it's getting cold, so icy roads would really suck.
I head to Denver on Friday morning early. Which might make for a long weekend. I'm not sure if I want to bring my laptop, because flying is difficult with most things and unpacking the laptop does not sound like fun before getting on the plane. We'll see. I should be back before then, but just in case - Have a great weekend!

That was a long weekend
I am so freakin' tired. I need sleep and have no time to do so. Saturday night (well, I guess technically Sunday morning) we came home at something like 5am. And the baby woke us up at like 7:30.
There's probably a lot more I could/should say, but I can't think about it now!
Here's a picture of a cool lion at the lion habitat inside the MGM.
And, I'm technically in this picture. You just can't see me!
I'll post more pictures later. I have a meeting now!

And I thought the last post was rushed!
I have about 15 minutes to write before I'm off to pick up K at "jumping class." Then I fly to Vegas tonight.
I just looked at the list of permitted items on planes (considering I'm only bringing a carry on) and did you realize that just about nothing is permitted? For instance, my toothpaste could be taken because it is half empty. And my makeup. On second thought, maybe I should leave the makeup at home. It was expensive and I'd be angry not to have it. *Going to take makeup pouch out of carry on bag*
We leave at 7:40 tonight, meaning I'll work until about 4ish and then head up to my friends apartment shortly thereafter. She found someone to drive us to the airport so that neither of us have to park our car at the airport for 3 nights. That's probably a good thing!
I'm very frustrated with one of my classes and the two professors who teach it. At the beginning of the semester they said that someone would be in the tutoring centre from 7am on. Most of the time no one is there when I get there at 11 before class. Meaning that I'm left scrambling to set up my lesson and if I'm lucky enough to make copies I usually have to cut apart the word sort while in my second language acquistion class. Yesterday, I was in tears over it. And then the professors never showed up. So my lesson was entirely made up on the fly. Especially since the network was down and we couldn't print anyhow. Super frustrating. I really want to fill out evaluation cards now. I don't want to wait 6 more weeks to do so. They expect a level of professionalism from us, so why shouldn't we expect the same (or maybe even better) from them?
I'll be back when I have a chance. Oh and I'm not really ignoring you. I'm just way beyond on reading blogs. Like so far behind that I have at least 200 posts in my bloglines to read. 6 weeks. In 6 weeks the semester will be over and I will be caught up. Or, that's my plan anyhow.

The day after Halloween and I don't have any candy to prove it
Last night was quite fun. And I have about thirty minutes (tops!) to write about it.
I ditched my last class (because really, who wants to go to class from 7-945 on Halloween night? No one, I tell you! And, I'm the only undergrad in the class, and technically one of about three without kids. I want to know how many people were there because she "couldn't" cancel class). And went to K and B's. Which took me twice as long as usual to get there, so it's good that I left early. While there I caught up with the kids who had already been out for a while (about 45 minutes by the time I got there I'd estimate) and went for about 45 minutes longer (which really isn't that long since the houses in their neighbourhood are far apart and only every third or fourth one was even lit up.
We kept asking K "do you want to go to one more house?" and she'd come back with "yes, no two more (or three or five or "firteen"). Then one lady gave her quite a big bag of candy and she said "mama, we have 'sert at our house?" at which point she'd finally connected that the stuff going into the bag would be eaten at some point! I took her back home and B continued with mom (dad's out of town for basically the entire month) and we had warm cocoa. Then I had her put on her pj's which was quite a struggle and took bribery that I wasn't going to follow through on, until mom walked in the door and immediately K says "more warm cocoa, peez" Darn! However, I used like 1 packet of hot cocoa in two cups for K and one for B. Let's call it glorified chocolate milk!
I asked K where I was going to sleep before mom got home and she looks at me and says "mommy coming back" and "nowhere - your house!" Ha! I slept in the guestroom because I just have to be in their town early on Wednesday mornings and it didn't make sense to drive home when it was already getting late. This morning mom went to the gym and K was up when I got out of the shower (which I took early so I could work on homework) and she looked really sad. So, I brought her into my bed and we cuddled. Which is a much better way to wake up than by doing homework I suppose.
Her vocabulary has really grown and she is really close to meeting the objectives stated in her IEP which is really exciting. She's starting to use blends and long sentences when talking - yay! The average length of response for a 3.5 to 4 year old is apparently 4.4 words. K rarely stops at less than 5. And it's usually much more than that. Mostly because she's being snotty, but hey, it's speech right?
Oh, and she seems to beginning to understanding the concept of adding. So, if you have any fun games that you could suggest for early preschoolers (well, I guess she'd technically be in Junior Kindergarten next fall in Canada, so maybe not so early) - share! I'm begging!! Because her mom asked me and I've got nothing!!!
I finished a major paper in like 1.5 hours today. I just hope it's decent. Especially because I kind of skipped a section that she said she didn't want us to stress about. So I didn't. Because I didn't even do it. I'm not too concerned though because I seem to do decently most of the time and this class is a lot of work. And, I never posted the pictures I mentioned. Maybe tomorrow. Heck, maybe I will make it for NaBloPoMo without ever signing up. We'll see. Ooh, I just keep coming up with more to say. I'll be back when I have a chance.
